Aero Norway is an independent engine MRO specialist located at Stavanger airport on the west coast of Norway. The modern and well-equipped 14,500 sq.m. facility has the capacity to deliver 120 engines a year with streamlined workflow processes to repair 16 engines consecutively at any one time. Production, test and storage areas cover a further 12.500 sq.m., with the headquarters and training centre adding another 2,700 sq.m. The Company employs over 95 highly trained mechanics, inspectors and engineers within the engine shop who work a continuous shift pattern to sustain optimum TATs. The Aero Norway apprentice scheme currently has eight trainee engineers, all of whom are undertaking a two year program. A further 50 personnel are responsible for the sales, customer support and administration. Around the world, Aero Norway has strategic partnerships with more than 20 key suppliers and OEMs. These relationships are rigorously reviewed to maintain quality and cost-savings which are passed on to customers.

Powerplant Engineer

Located in the engineering department and part of Aero Norway’s Customer Focus Team (CFT), we are looking for a talented engineer to be responsible for the technical aspects of the engine project in the CFT.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate documentation provided by customers to prepare Engine shop visits.
  • Create and maintain documentation required to maintain Aircraft Engines including modules and parts. Preparation of work scopes, revision of maintenance program and other relevant work instructions.
  • Evaluation of AD notes and Service bulletins in accordance with guidelines given by OEM and authorities such as EASA and FAA.
  • To work within the Customer Focus Teams (CFT) to create added value to the customer, meet customer commitments and requirements, be the technical contact for questions and support and be proactive with team improvements. Help to ensure the teams meet the milestones and plan dates for activities.
  • Evaluate and analyze for opportunities to improve engine maintenance procedures in accordance with guidelines given by Aviation Regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare necessary documents to communicate the condition of Engine and related parts to customers, vendors, authorities and OEMs.
  • Work closely to give technical support to internal / external customers and customer focus teams.
  • Perform work in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Be proactive to improve all aspects of the engineering function and be part of continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure procedures and descriptions regarding engineering processes are kept updated in our internal systems

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform work in accordance with all applicable EH&S requirements.
  • Perform work in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Ensure procedures and descriptions related to engineering processes are kept updated in MOE, BMS system and related maintenance documents outlined by regulatory authorities

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent with aero engine/Airline maintenance experience. Candidates with extensive experience with Aircraft Engines type CFM56-3, CFM56-7B or CFM56-5B, will also be considered for this position.
  • 2+ years’ experience in either; CFM56/ other jet engine overhaul process or airline powerplant experience.
