Senior Valve Engineer

Role Summary: 
The Senior Valve engineer will be an integral part of the Piping, Jumpers & Valves Department that is technical responsible for defining and delivering Subsea manifold Piping, Jumpers & Valves to the programs, tenders and projects. The role covers review of customer specifications, preparation of RFQ packages and execution of NPI programmes for valves. Interaction with 3rd party suppliers is extensive. 

Essential Responsibilities: 
Main responsibilities are technically responsibility for a defined valve scope of supply within a programme, study or EPC project. 

  • Review tender documentation packages and prepare clarifications, exceptions and qualifications to be submitted to Client.
  • Prepare RFQ package for valves including valve datasheets and project specific addenda.
  • Perform technical evaluation of supplier bids for valve packages.
  • Perform supplier document review.
  • Arrange valve & actuator design reviews.
  • Provide GRV assessments.
  • Provide necessary interface information regarding valves and actuators.
  • Prepare Technical Queries to Customers.
  • Participate as presenter or reviewer in technical reviews.
  • Assist in maintenance of GE standard Valve and actuator specification.
  • Assist in maintenance of GE valve database.
  • Be technically responsible for NPI programmes for valves. 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in a relevant engineering position.
  • English fluent verbal and written. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Structured/good organizational skills.
  • Experienced in standard office tools like word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Knowledge of technical contract terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of working within a Quality environment (Particularly ISO 9001).
  • Familiar with relevant standards (NORSOK, ISO, IEC, ASME, API, etc) and design requirements for subsea products.
  • In depth knowledge of valve engineering.
